Add and edit products
Products are the panels, inverters, batteries and other kit your designers pick from when they lay out an elevation. Each organisation keeps its own list.
Who can do this
- Admins with permission to edit products.
- Open Settings → Products.
Add a product
- Open Settings → Products.
- Click Add product.
- Choose a Type (Panel, Inverter, Battery and so on), or type a new one.
- Fill in the name, manufacturer, model and the spec fields for that type (kWp, Voc, capacity, type test, MCS references).
- Set Cost today if you know it.
- Click Save.
- Open Documents on the product and upload the datasheet, MCS certificate or warranty PDF.
- Optional: under Custom attributes, add any extra details you want to record (label, value, unit), then save.
- Optional: under Cost history, add a dated unit cost so Cost today stays correct over time.
Upload a datasheet
Always upload the file itself rather than pasting a link to the manufacturer's website. Links break; uploaded files don't.
- Find the product.
- Open Documents.
- Choose the document type (datasheet, MCS, warranty or other).
- Upload the PDF.
- Open shows the file. Delete removes it from the product.
Edit a product
- Find the product in the list (filter by type to narrow it down).
- Change the details, attributes or costs, then click Save.
- To replace a datasheet, upload the new one under Documents and delete the old one.
Delete a product
- You can only delete a product that isn't used in any design. If it is in use, you'll see a message saying so.
- If you're not sure, leave the product in place. An unused product does no harm.
- If a wrong product is getting in the way of a design, email support@migratingdragons.com.
